Description:

Rochester Pean Forceps are a type of hemostatic forceps designed to control bleeding during surgery by clamping blood vessels, tissues, or organ structures. They are characterized by their large, straight or curved jaws with deep serrations, which provide a strong, secure grip. The forceps are typically made of stainless steel, offering durability and resistance to corrosion. The jaws of Rochester Pean Forceps are wider than those of other hemostatic forceps, allowing them to exert a firm grip on larger tissues. They also feature a locking mechanism, which allows the forceps to be locked into place, ensuring consistent pressure without the need for continuous manual holding.

Usage:

  1. Hemostasis: Rochester Pean Forceps are primarily used to stop or control bleeding during surgical procedures by clamping blood vessels or other tissue. Surgeons use them to temporarily occlude vessels before cauterization or suturing.
  2. Tissue Handling: The forceps are also employed in procedures requiring the manipulation or dissection of tissue, especially larger structures that require a firm grip.
  3. Surgical Procedures: These forceps are used in various surgeries, such as abdominal, thoracic, or orthopedic procedures, where a secure clamp is necessary to manage large vessels or tissues.
  4. Trauma and Emergency Care: They can be used in emergency surgeries to control large bleeding vessels or manage damaged tissues quickly.

In summary, Rochester Pean Forceps are versatile surgical tools designed for controlling bleeding and handling tissues, crucial in maintaining hemostasis and providing precision during surgical operations.
